Getting around in Portugal using the rail networks

The rail network in Portugal is run by a single company, CP (Comboios de Portugal).

The trains are clean, modern and arrive on time (Those of us familiar with the UK rail networks will appreciate just how radical and innovative this accomplishment is!).

There are three major services -
Alfa Pendular (Trains connecting the north and south of Portugal)
Intercidades (Regular inter-city trains connecting most of the major cities of Portugal)
Regional (Trains connecting all the regions of Portugal and covering more remote areas)
